The following information is on why you should have a traditional transmission service and not a "quick lube" service. Some who sell evacuators for "quick-lube" service perpetuate the thinking that fluid evacuation replaces the need for the traditional transmission service, in which the pan is removed and the filter replaced. The reality is that "flushing" a transmission may not offer the same benefits.

Here is one of the most common pitches used and the truth behind it:

Pitch: You don't need to replace the filter because our machine backflushes the dirt right out of it and leaves the filter as good as new.

Fact: Most domestic transmissions produced in the past twenty years and many import transmissions are filtered by felt media that cannot be "flushed" or "backflushed". Backflushing a screen filter dislodges contaminant and reintroduces it into the fluid. These contaminants may not be evacuated completely during flushing.
